  • For those of you interested, Dad will be guest pastoring at the Jensen's church (Community Church of Joy) tomorrow.  It's up here on the Sammamish Plateau.  I'd love to see you there if any of you want to stop in and hear him.  The service starts at 10:45.

  • ...:Urgent Prayer Request:...

Hey guys, I have a major prayer request for you all.  Ashley Porter has been taken into Children's Hospital with some very serious problems.  Last I heard this afternoon, the doctors didn't know what was causing these problems or why.  Right now, Ashley and her family are needing prayer for healing and comfort, and also for wisdom and discernment for the doctors as they run a multitude of tests.  Thanks guys.

  • Happy 4th of July!

Happy Fourth guys!  Enjoy the explosions.

Oh, and btw, do try to keep any fires to a minimum.  They have a tendency to yield bad results when they're not in a fireplace.

  • Lightning

A little girl walked to and from school daily.

Though the weather that morning was

    questionable and clouds were forming,
she made her daily trek to the elementary

    school.

As the afternoon progressed, the winds whipped
up, along with thunder and lightning.

The mother of the little girl felt concerned that
her daughter would be frightened as she walked

home from school and she herself feared that
the electrical storm might harm her child.

Following the roar of thunder, lightning,

like a flaming sword, would cut through the sky.

Full of concern, the mother quickly got into her car
and drove along the route to her child's school.

As she did so, she saw her little girl walking
along, but at each flash of lightning, the child
would stop, look up and smile.

Another and another were to follow quickly
and with each the little girl would look at the

    streak of light and smile.

When the mother's car drew up beside the child she
lowered the window and called to her, "What are you

doing? Why do you keep stopping?"

The child answered, "I am trying to look pretty.

    God keeps taking my picture."

  • I stole *coughpermanentlyborrowedcough* this quote from http://www.xanga.com/reinerachel because I found it to be so thought-provoking.  It's a good one to ponder.

  • It's a sad day when you give the college $1,510.00 and you only get $2.90 back in change.    A very sad day indeed.  And that didn't include books either.
