  • Alright everyone, head over to Whitney's site http://www.xanga.com/home.aspx?user=Iced_Ova and wish her a happy birthday.  She's 18 today.

By the way, how can I make the link just say "Whitney's," or "Iced_Ova" or something like that instead of having the actual URL showing?

  • Well, I am on my way home from Cali
(Yea for 22 hour van trip!) and I just found out that My parents' 8 year
old computer crashed the other day, thus meaning that posts here
will be few and far between, nor will I be able to send or receive
    any
e-mails until we have a new computer. So...if anyone needs to get
a hold of me, you'll have to give me a call. Oh yeah, and Cali was
amazing! I got some incredible pictures of the sun setting on the
ocean - absolutely beatiful. Other details coming
    soon...hopefully.

  • Well, I'm off to Cali for Senior Trip
with my youth group. We'll be going to Disney Land, Magic
Mountain, possibly an Angels game, and staying in a beach house!
I'll be back on the 16th, so if anyone wants to get together after
I'm back, let me know. I'm riding down in the van on 405 South
    right now. If you're
wondering how I'm managing to update right now, I'm doing it from
my cell phone. I just got it a couple days ago. I don't know how often I'll be
able to update while I'm gone because it takes quite a while to
type anything on this phone and I don't know if I'll have computer
access while I'm in California. If I get bored during the 22 hour
van ride down and/or back, I may do some more updating to kill
time. So far, this has taken me 1 hour 48 minutes to
    write.

  • I don't have much time, but I will post a few pictures of our new dog.  We finally decided on the name "Emmy Rose," although I don't think we have decided which way we will spell "Emmy."  When we first got her, she was so timid that she wouldn't move from wherever we put her down.  Now that she has gotten to know us though, she has become quite energetic and affectionate.

Emmy became bored because I was doing school and my parents were gone.  So she came bounding into my room, grabbed an old church bulletin, and went running into the living room with it.

After she became bored with the bulletin, she moved on to an old sock I gave her that had the toe completely ripped open.

Isn't she cute?  She is quite the cuddlier.  In fact, she will come running straight at you, bouncing like a little rabbit, and just before she reaches you, she'll make a final leap, rotating her body in mid-air so that she lands on her side or back, and then expectantly waits for you to rub her stomach.

  • Edit - This post is written from last night's perspective because that's when it was written.  I just didn't have a chance to post it then.

Well, after spending over three hours at the Bellevue Botanical Garden, changing three times in a public restroom, and smiling who knows how many times, I finally have senior pictures done.  If there are any I really like, I may post a few of---  WHOA!  Hold that thought.

NEWSFLASH - Dad just got off the phone and has just informed us that as of four minutes ago, we may have finally found a new Pekingese puppy!!!!!  You guys have no idea how big an answer to prayer is this!!!  We have spent hours upon hours calling breeders and on the Internet and have struck out at literally every single turn.  We had been beginning to think that we weren't going to be able to find a high quality dog that we could breed and/or show (which is what we had intended to do with Sweet Pea, our last peke that we just lost on December 13th, but hadn't been able to because she had epilepsy.).  Now, one of the breeders has just called us back and said that he will sell us one of his SHOW QUALITY females AND he has offered to breed back with us so that we can have little puppies of our own!!!  If we like the puppy, we get to pick it up tomorrow at 4:00 P.M.  I'll post pictures as soon as I can if we get it.  Man, God is so awesome in all the ways He looks out for us.

For those of you who are wondering what in the world a Pekingese is, here is a picture of Sweet Pea, our last one.

If you are wondering why her front leg is missing its fur, it's because it had to be shaved when she was in emergency and the disease she had near the end of her life kept her fur from growing back.  She is actually missing her undercoat as well, so she isn't nearly as pretty in this picture as she use to be.

  • The Center of the Bible.
    Bible oddity or God's design?

The shortest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 117.
The longest chapter in the Bible is Psalm 119.
The center chapter of the Bible is Psalm 118.
There are 594 chapters in the Bible before Psalm 118.
There are 594 chapters in the Bible after Psalm 118.
If you add those two numbers together you get 1188.
The center verse in the Bible is Psalm 118:8.
"It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man."

What do you think - Bible oddity or God's design?  I think we all know the answer to that one.

  • I have two interesting questions to pose to you today.  The first I got from today's comic "Frazz" and the second is from my essay class at Legacy.

    1.  What would happen if you ran a zebra across the scanner in a supermarket?

    2.  If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat?

    Ponder and discuss.
